More Scrart

Hi there! Hope you had an enjoyable weekend. I actually managed a few more layouts for Miss M's album. This first one - The Many Faces of Miss Moo was very much Jen Hall inspired - can't you tell! And I really like it - it was refreshing to use some vibrant funky colours for a change and they really suit Miss M's personality too! This shot was taken in dim light though - it's alot more vibrant irl...

These two below are actually supposed to be side by side - just not used to doing doubles so forgot to photograph them that way. And the same applies these photos too - that felt heart is actually an amazing purple colour - I may even try and take these again just because they are so different to this in colour...

Back to Daily Life With the Jensens

Here's the Daily Life Family Journal. I just love how thick and messy and scrappy and well loved it is. I've had to re-glue bits back in it a few times, but it certainly has served it purpose of bringing much joy at reliving memories of the ordinary and extraordinary times of our lives...

I last entered a day into the journal last november so I've been feeling the call back to it lately - and I must at least finish off the book - only 4 weeks left for that. So I managed to cover about 21 pages the other night whilst at a friends house to scrap, and now just add photos and journalling each day or so. Check out the dates though - that's what you get from a SAHM who doesn't use her calendar or diary. What was I thinking?! So I'll have to wait now until the 27th comes around and take it from there - talk about getting ahead of myself!

Lovely to have you stop by - have a great day. X Me

I'm a Busy Little Beaver...

What a hugely productive day I've had today! Firstly, I managed to get three loads of washing done (by mid-morning too ) which I was pretty happy about. Then I mended my pants and a ripped doona cover, and made this lovely pillow for Millie's bed. My marathon-running barista sister, (who used to do cross-stich in a previous life but has now moved away from the cottage craft look) was going to give this sampler away as it's not her style anymore. So I snatched it and two others up (all that hard work I couldn't bare for them to go to a stranger!) and as there's not a spare space left to hang anything around here I decided to turn it into pillow art! So I've finished one, and have another to do tomorrow. Will post a pic of that too.

I also snuck into the scrap room when both the kids were asleep and managed to get this quick little LO done for my little man's first year album...

And, speaking of sleeps... As part of Toby's weaning plan, I put him in his cot today with the Night Garden music on CD (he usually feeds to sleep) and he only whinged for a couple of minutes, then listened to the CD for 15 minutes - another little whinge and then he slept for 2 hours! It's the first time he's ever put himself to sleep! Here's my chubba bubba...

And for those of you who have been asking for photos of the house, and laundry and various projects - here's a few. I finally finished off sewing the curtains for the laundry pantry/linen cupboard on the weekend. I was really happy with how they turned out. Like most of the things I sew - I make it up as I go along - so when I realised that all of the tab tops fitted side by side perfectly with no gaps (not intended) I was stoked. Now when the kids play peek-a-boo behind the curtain, I don't have to worry about them falling off - they're really sturdy. I used some scrapping buttons to brighten them up - and am very happy with the results...

You can see the step up to the laundry - well that is how high the tiler had to build up the concrete in order to get a level surface! It's about 20mm in the far corner - and about 60mm at the step! These pics are taken from the back sleep out part of the house - kitchen is to the right and back door to the left. More pics of those to come soon.

This is the study/scrap room. It looks a bit of a mess as it's the last place really left in the house to get packed away and sorted properly - not as big as my old room in Longreach, but better than nothing!!!
And on the weekend I also managed to finish my personal painting project - the front door! The colour is always better in real life than in a pic - and the same is definitely true for this - it's a gorgeous deep teal blue. I wanted a red door - to make a bold creative impact as you walked up to the house - but had to compromise with DH on that one! But I do really love this colour - what do you think?

Last but not least - I even managed to bake a batch of muffins today - I'm not normally one to post pictures of such things - but because I'm on a natural high from my oh so productive day - just thought I'd get a little more milleage out of it!
Don't forget to say hello when you pop in- don't be a lurker anymore! Thanks for stopping by. X Me

Toby's First Birthday

Well it's only taken me three months but I've finally managed to complete the layout for Toby's first birthday! I think I'll also do a single one on the cake too as it was pretty spesh! This is a little different from some of the recent scraps I've been doing, but I was revisiting my Jen Hall classes this week and decided to try her bright funky and fun style. Thanks for dropping by and say hello if you want - it's always nice to get your messages from around the world. X Me

More Scraps...

Here's a few more scraps from my table... This first one titled Just Me was the result of a twenty minute challenge. I had a friend over the other night to scrap and it was ten o'clock before we even got started - so I suggested we do a 20 minute challenge just so that we'd at least have soemthing to show for all the hours! I'd never done one before, so here's my effort...

And here's two more for Toby's albums. I'm still getting used to doing boyish layouts and trying to find new ideas. These are'nt anything amazing - but it's just a great feeling to be getting a few more done. I absolutely love these photos of Toby laughing at the park and would have loved to make a dinosaur from chipboard to match the paper - but these days it's all about power scrapping and getting as much done in a small amount of time!

Hope you're having a great day in your part of the world. Thanks for stoping by and please feel free to say hello and leave a message to let me know you've visited! X Me.

A Few More Things...

My big sis and her family are finally home safe and sound from their 6 month trip through India, Nepal and Africa. Yes, amazing I know - and the green is still draining from my face, but we're all sooo glad they're home safe and sound, although I did enjoy living vicariously through them for the first part of the year... I think I may be going back to using lots of photos in my layouts - got a lot to catch up on too - so have a few ideas. I drove down to Perth last week to catch up with the gang before they departed for Broome - so these pics were taken then.

And this is my gorgeous Miss Moo - very delighted to be in another little girl's bedroom - surroiunded by new and amazing toys. My sister was introducing her to their dog Lucy. Here's a snippet of the conversation...
Aunty Nellie: Moo, come and have a look at my dog
Miss Moo: oohh
Aunty Nellie: Her name's Lucy
Miss Moo Ooh - I like your dog and I really love her feathers (!!!)

Kids do say the darndest things sometimes - she was really trying to say something very complementary - it was so sweet!

Have you checked in at Gallery 12 today? Have a lovely week wherever you may be, X Me.
